About Moissanite
A Celestial Sparkle with an Earthly Heart
More than 50,000 years ago a meteorite collided with Earth in a fiery blaze and left behind trace crystals of a rare otherworldly mineral. These brilliant fragments were later discovered in an Arizona crater by French chemist Henri Moissan, who noticed they bore an uncanny resemblance to diamonds. It was not until eleven years later that Moissan identified the crystals as a unique compound known as silicon carbide. Today the gemstone born from the stars bears his name, Moissanite.
While natural moissanite is incredibly rare, modern science has perfected the art of recreating its cosmic brilliance ethically. Trésor proudly offers this enduring gem that rivals the sparkle of diamonds.
